I gotta admit, I hadn’t been to a Costco since it was a Price Club, but in the summer of 2023 Mahalo Max insisted we go… and boy was I treated to a land of amazement! I seriously couldn't believe the dollar fifty hot dogs, but it was no joke… and when the lady handed me 2 Pepsi cups I had to say, oh no, I didn’t order drinks, but she insisted they came with each hot dog! Eyes bigger than beach balls, I looked at Mahalo Max and he just had a huge grin… I looked behind me and was like, “You seeing this!!?” How can this be real life!? Guy behind me was not having it… he had been living this reality for years, and I was just the dumb newbie who didn’t know better.

I left that day, a changed human… I still haven’t been brave enough to go back alone, not sure of what I’ll come home with, but my Mom goes every few weeks and texts me, “going to Costco, you want hot dogs or pizza?”, and the answer is almost always a yes!

Can you take a guess what I had just eaten for lunch when I took these photos? Boom! Dollar Fifty Hot dog washed down with a Pepsi!

I had to google this phenomenon and sure enough, there’s a great story to these dollar fifty dogs… an executive put his career on the line and demanded they remain the same price no matter what their losses, to keep people coming back!

Inspired by my first trip where I was overcome with amazement… I doodled out these designs to celebrate my own excitement over dollar fifty dogs… oh yeah, and you may even spot the tiki that made its rounds as a meme!

98% Poly 2% spandex this is a super thin breathable stretchy fabric with a little texture to it! Tough and durable and hasn’t faded on me one bit in the years I’ve had them through many washes and dry cycles.
